St. Moritz Polo AG, together with the Municipality of St. Moritz, is working for the future vision of the Solar City St. Moritz in the long term.
As a new sponsoring partner of the St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow and system integrator for solar energy, TRITEC provides the required technical know-how to implement this challenging plan. Together we are working step by step for the CO2-free energy generation by means of clean solar energy for St. Moritz.
For many years now, the Municipality of St. Moritz is involved in various aspects of sensible energy use and healthy climate. In 2003, it was awarded the seal «Energiestadt St. Moritz – european energy award» for these endeavours. At that time the concept «Clean Energy St. Moritz» was launched, which endures and is continuously developed until today with forward-looking sustainable energy solutions.
For this year's 27. St. Moritz World Cup on Snow TRITEC was taking care for a 100 percent emission-free photovoltaics lighting system in the evening. The ecological solar lamps work completely autonomous and without electricity costs.
During the 26th St. Moritz World Cup on Snow a photovoltaic system was generating energy sustainably and was reducing CO2. Due to 100 solar modules and an active surface of more than 150 m2, the grid of the Municipality of St. Moritz directly received clean solar energy.
Since 1930 the sun is the official emblem of St. Moritz. And justly so, since the world-class mountain resort with its 320 sunny days on average does not only offer fantastic holiday conditions in the distinctive landscape of the High Alps, but also excellent sun irradiation values. These can be used optimally to preserve the beauty of the unique scenery around St. Moritz in the long term.
We all love St. Moritz, and therefore we all should be interested in ensuring the preservation of the climate of this unique and charming world-class mountain resort.
